I’m going to BlogHer ’13!

It’s my first time ever and I’m excited to be going to BlogHer ’13! It’s an annual blogging conference  and this year it’s at Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center from July 25th to the 27th.

BlogHer is a huge community of women who blog. BlogHer creates exposure, education and economic empowerment for their community and the audiences that they reach.

Yianni and I are driving to Chicago and will be staying at the The Palmer House Hilton. I’m sure there are lots of gals who will bring their husbands. Although Yianni isn’t attending the conference, I am glad to have a mini-vacation with him in Chicago. A lot to do there!

Here’s  the #BlogHer13 hashtag on Twitter. Check out BlogHer ’13’s landing page for the conference Agenda. I’ve connected with other 1st timers with the hashtag, #BlogHer13Newbie.

Are you going? Come talk to me at BlogHer’13!

p.s. To all my followers who are looking for a new recipe post, let me say, “I’m sorry!”. I know it has been a while. I have been so busy working at the digital ad agency as the Community Manager for a multi-national brand’s “social-good” project, that I haven’t been in the kitchen very much.

Yianni has been SO supportive. He has been doing most of the cooking for the last 3 months. Maybe I should make a video of him cooking outdoors on the grill!

Kitoula’s Social Metrics

I have been working for an ad agency on a corporate “social good” project for a multinational brand. I am the project’s Community Manager and Blogger. I manage the project’s Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest profiles. I write articles for the website under a pen name and am the site’s content manager.

I have learned quite a bit about social metrics since working on this project, so I thought I might apply some of this knowledge to Kitoula.com’s social media. My numbers look miniscule compared to those I have been calculating for the project.

Here are the May numbers for Facebook. They are called ‘Insights’:
Total Likes: 163
New Likes: 4
People Talking about my Page: 28
Fans who have engaged with my Page: 76
Total Reach or folks who have seen any content associated with my Page: 911
Total Impressions: 2,785
Friends of Fans or folks who are Friends with those who Like my Page: 1,740,291
[Wow! I guess my Fans have a lot of Friends!]
58% of my Facebook Fans are women between the age of 35 – 64.

Kitoula May FB Reach

Using HootSuite I took a snapshot of my profile called a ‘Twitter Profile Overview’. I was very surprised to find that my profile can be found on 40 Twitter lists.Kitoula May Twitter

Using a free analytics tool for Pinterest, called Pinpuff, I created this chart which lists my Boards, Followers, Pins, Repins and Likes for each:Kitoula Pinterest Chart

Please let me know if you have any questions about all these figures. Also, if I don’t post any new recipes in the next few weeks, you now know what is keeping me busy!

An honest to goodness website

I have just moved my blog from WordPress.com to 3sixteenweb. I feel all grown up!
So now I am going to try my hand at partnering with brands through reviews, recommendations and ad space.

The first place I started was on FoodBuzz. Since I signed up yesterday I already have a buzz count of 86 and 11 new foodie friends! Next I thought I’d check out SocialSpark and Shespeaks.

Any other suggestions?  I’m a little bit of a newb at this.
